Blossom into your Best Self with Ayurveda, India’s ancient holistic health system

Have you tried many different things for your health but nothing has really worked? Learn and implement Ayurvedic wisdom, be your own healer and take control of your health

Hello there, I am Susan, an ayurvedic wellness counselor. Thanks for the visit!

I have been living in India for eleven years and discovered Ayurveda while cooking regularly with my Indian mother-in-law. When I found out there is a health system that takes a customized approach to health and encourages us to trust our own inner wisdom, I was captivated for life.

What’s Ayurveda all about?

Ayurveda is the oldest health system in the world, originating in India at least 5000 years ago. It literally means the “science of life.” Ayurveda takes into account all areas of our life: nutrition, lifestyle, relationships, purpose, stress, exercise, emotions, environment, etc and tells us how to live a healthy live according to our unique mind-body type.

We can customize our nutrition, lifestyle and self-care according to who we really are. Ayurveda teaches us that each of us has our own innate healing capability. I will be your guide, but the power is with you. In today’s wellness world, there is so much contradicting information on healthy lifestyle. Ayurveda customizes recommendations to your unique individual constitution.

Why I’m so inspired by Ayurveda

1.

Ayurveda sees us as inherently whole. There is nothing to fix. Our inner nature is inherently self-healing.

2.

Ayurveda seeks to get to the root cause of symptoms and takes a completely holistic approach of mind, body and soul.

3.

Ayurveda is non-judgemental and encourages us to accept ourselves as we are. We are not trying to change our body type. We are trying to live in accordance with our true nature and let our true selves come out.

4.

Ayurveda is about listening to your inner wisdom. No one knows you better than you. No healer, counsellor, or practitioner can tell you what is best for your body

Highly recommend seeing Susan. Susan knows Ayurveda like the back of her hand! She is passionate and will recommend really helpful things to you. I was having a lot of digestive troubles but Susan recommended some changes to me and after I implemented them, my digestion became better!

Susan is a highly knowledgeable, compassionate and infinitely realistic Ayurveda teacher. She is non-corporate and homespun to the core. Studying Ayurveda with her while in Auroville and then remotely has been an immense growth experience.

Little did I know that upon leaving Auroville that the pandemic was right around the corner. When I returned home, she gave me weekly assignments (that didn’t take too much time) and helped me apply practical take-aways to my life. Consequently, my health and overall outlook greatly improved. Here’s how:

*Improved sleep and digestion;
*Easy, healthy, everyday recipes that leave me feeling nourished and satiated;
*Lost five pounds;
*Brighter eyes;
*Clarity as to my purpose in life, at a particular cross-roads;
*Creation of a daily routine that is doable and effective;
*An enthusiasm that everyone in my life can see.

Of course, you can learn with Susan if you are in Auroville. But, really, you can learn with her from anywhere in the world. That being said, you might just want

Got to know about my body and mind type and was given a list of foods that works well with my body type according to Ayurveda. The learnings were in line with what I believed about myself but never really compartmentalised. Some of the suggestions (such as eating the largest meal at noon for my body type , vatha, as that is when the digestive fire is the strongest) were already being implemented by me and this gave me an explanation to why they were more effective than other things I tried. Susan was helpful after the consultation as well and provided several resources to help me work well with my body type.
